Amur Leopards are critically endangered with an estimated of only 30 left remaining in the wild. So I wanted to do a project dedicated to them!
And here it is, the finished piece! A 22×30 portrait of an Amur Leopard done entirely in fingerprints! Why fingerprints?
I chose fingerprints because humans play a big part in this species population decrease. It’s the human touch that destroys habitats and kills these animals for their exotic furs. Likewise, the human hand plays a part in rebuilding the population…though it’s a slow process, similar to placing one fingerprint on paper at a time. It starts off slow, and gradually builds up. It may not be noticeable right away, or from a distance…but when you get close enough, you can see the effort that is put into it.
